John M Kochanski Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John M Kochanski (Independence, Missouri), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 18, 2026 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid adieu to John's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration John has bequeathed us. For though he may have departed from our sight, his spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Kochanski and Mildred Kochanski (Gephardt); and his brother Joseph "Joe" Kochanski. He is survived by: his wife Carleen Kochanski (Cook); his daughters, Kristin Kochanski (Dan Crowe) and Lori Kochanski-Hayde (Mark); his sister Mary Alice Willett; and his sister-in-law Mary Ann Kochanski (Giudici). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Independence Police Department or Independence Fire Department as the family appreciated so much their professionalism, respect and courtesy the night that Jack passed.
