He was predeceased by: his father John Barrett; and his brother Clifford Castle. He is survived by: his mother Jean Barrett; his stepsiblings, Marcia Kay Bond (Jerry), John Barrett, Jr. (Jan) and Robin Barrett (Suzie); his sister-in-law Joann Bovoroy; and his nephew Skye Barnett. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
