She was predeceased by : her parents, Fay and Roy; her husband Gene Brunson; and her siblings, Richard Cato and Margaret Sponagle (Cato).

She is survived by : her sons, Deighton (Maria Duda) and Gordon (Mary Jo Hogan); and her grandsons, Ben, Sam and Andy Brunson.

Visitation was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Community of Christ Stone Church (1012 W Lexington Ave, Independence, MO 64050). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, April 29th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Mound Grove Cemetery (1818 N River Blvd, Independence, MO 64050).

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in honor of Maddie to the Alzheimer's Association, Outreach International, or Harvesters Community Food Network.
