It is with sadness that the passing of Maxine V. Dorn of Independence, Missouri is shared. Maxine, born on July 29, 1925, passed away on October 4, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Maxine will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Though Maxine is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Maxine’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.
She was predeceased by: her husband James Arthur Dorn (Jack); her grandson Darren Carter; and her son-in-law Mark A. Ransom. She is survived by: her children, Veeder V. Dorn (Kathy) of Arizona, Mark M. Dorn of Colorado, Jacqueline A. Ransom and Tammara S. Dorn. She is also survived by Sixteen grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (705 W Walnut St, Independence, MO 64050).
