With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Melvin Ray Launius in Independence, Missouri, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 5, 2024 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Miller; his sister Virginia Durham; his daughter Laurie Launius Hawley; his son-in-law David Hawley; his sons, Melvin Launius Jr., Jeff Launius and John Launius (Susie); and his grandchildren, Jennifer Allen, Matt Hawley, Jessica Todd, Amy Martin, Joshua Launius, Jared Launius, Sariah Launius and James Launius. He is also survived by fifteen great-grandchildren, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
