He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph W. Fanning and Mildred E. Fanning (Hiestand); his siblings, Ivan Fanning, Dwight Fanning, Raymond Fanning, Melvin Fanning, Louetta Whiteside, Roberta Handyside and Marjorie Swanson; and his grandson Marcus Fanning.

He is survived by: his spouse Charmion Lee Mesplay; and his children, Debra Allee of Independence, MO, Matt Fanning of Flemington, MO and Mark Fanning of Flemington, MO. He is also survived by four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
