We are sad to announce that, on October 1, 2020, at the age of 77, Robert Eugene Reid of Independence, Missouri, born in Bucklin, Kansas passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Roscoe Reid and Virginia Reid; and his sister Connie Garrett (Reid) of Independence, Missouri.. He is survived by: his sister Dr. Janet Reid; his niece Heidi Garrett-McClain of Independence, Missouri; and his daughters, Amy Dizney, Laura Vaughn, Sara Dizney of Florida and Megan Reid of North Carolina.

“James and I are very saddened by the death of Robert. We met in United Arab Emerita and became close friends. We made time to visit yearly with Robert, however missed this year due to COVID. We will surely miss his friendship, story telling, and memories shared while in UAE. He was a great short story writer and often ended up in tears from laughter. We will miss our yearly trip to Independence each August. Jennifer and James Ayers”
