He was predeceased by : his father Donald L. Gibson; and his brother John Gibson. He is survived by : his mother Mary Belbeck; his children, Joseph Gibson, Wanda Gibson and Kimberly Gibson; and his siblings, Donald Gibson, Ronald Gibson, Arnold Gibson, Joseph Anello, Tonya Brost and Tina Waisner. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service was held on Sunday, April 28th 2024 at 3:00 PM and at 4:00 PM at the Fairmont Christian Fellowship (712 S Northern Blvd, Independence, MO 64053).
