He was predeceased by: his wife Sue; his parents, Charles Short and Elizabeth Short; and his siblings, Bill, Marie Stimelsky and Rosa Mae Gardner.
He is survived by: his children, Wesley (Renee) and Loretta Loyd (David) of Austin, TX; his grandchildren, Andrew Short, Danielle Short, Ian Loyd (Roxana) and Aaron Loyd; and his sisters, Ida Wilkerson, Myrtle Green and Patricia Struemph (Joe). He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
