He was predeceased by : his mother Florence Irene Nash; and his brother Bobby McDowell. He is survived by : his children, Angela Allen (Tyler) and Michael E. Pirtle Jr.; and his sister Mary Nelson. He is also survived by grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
