He was predeceased by : his father William "Bill" Benny. He is survived by : his daughters, Crystal Swaringam (Tim) of Ironton, MO, Kayla Boyd (Ryan) of Farmington, MO and Courtney Thomlinson; his grandchildren, Chandler Swaringam, Trevor Swaringam, Dayton Boyd, Kinsley Thomlinson and Addilynn Bloom; his brothers, Billy Bales, Robert Lee "Bobby" Bales and Donald Ray "Donny" Bales; and his daughter Karen Thomlinson. He is also survived by loving family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, friends may make a memorial contribution to St. Jude's Cancer Research.
