He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Whited and Dolly "Marler" Whited; his son Joseph Whited; and his siblings, Robert Whited, Hershel Whited, Grover Whited, Ralph Whited, Francis T. Sisk, Linda Allera Whited, Virginia Whited, Betty Lee Whited, Dorothy Whited, Paula R. Whited, Goldie L. Whited, Marcella Whited, Mary L. Whited and Ruth Ann Harper.

He is survived by: his children, Eddie Whited, Robert "Bobby" Whited (Ashley), Ira Whited, Samuel Whited, John Whited (Beth), Joanna Whited and Jerry Whited (Olivia); his grandchildren, Natasha, Nicco, Isabella, Lilianna, Chance, Mac, Christian, Evan, Dezi, Braylin, Cora, Skylar, Aalayiah and Tate; and his sister Marie Whited. He is also survived by loving family members and friends.

“I knew Sammy as a child. He was younger than me, so his older sister Linda was my playmate. Sammy almost daily, made his trek from his house to ours and would follow my mother around telling her his latest conquests. He had an amazing imagination which is very healthy in one so young. My mom always treated the neighborhood kids to treats. Plus she took time to listen to them and show them attention, which they all loved. So sad to hear of his passing. My greatest sympathy to his family.”
