He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvie Burton and Zettie Henderson Burton; his wife Emma Gerlach; his son Gene A. Burton; and his siblings, Carolyn Burton and Les Burton.
He is survived by: his son Ricky Burton (Susan) of Jackson; his daughter-in-law Grace Burton of Cape Girardeau; his sisters, Dorothy Haupt of Cape Girardeau and Bonnie Bowers of Chaffee; and his grandchildren, Dawn Hager (Chris), Jason Burton of Cape Girardeau, Nicole Aufdenberg (Brent) and Chad Burton (Becca) of Jackson. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
