It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald W. Jones (Jackson, Missouri), who passed away on July 28, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar O. Jones and Kathleen A. Rhodes Jones; and his brother Fred Jones. He is survived by: his wife Clarice L. Jones of Jackson; his grandson Gerald W. II Jones (Amy); his children, Gerald W. "Jed" Jones III of Cape Girardeau, William Jones of Cape Girardeau, John Henry Jones of Cape Girardeau, Isabel Jones of Cape Girardeau and Gina Raffety (Tom) of Cape Girardeau; his grandchildren, Kyle Bader (Brandy Escobar) of Santa Monica, Daly Raffety of Santa Monica and Lily Raffety of Santa Monica; his children, Harper Raffety of Cape Girardeau and Sarah Wilson; his grandchildren, Rivers Wilson of Nashville, Tennessee and Colette Wilson of Nashville, Tennessee; his siblings, Joe Mike Jones (Helga) of Fargo and Nancy Jones of Sheboygan, Wisconsin; and his sisters-in-law, Pamela Jones of Jackson, Gloria Burk of Overland Park and Carol Williams of Nashville, Tennessee. He is also survived by nine nephews, five nieces, and many cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mercy Hill Church (3757 MO-25, Jackson, MO 63755). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at 39 N Broadview St, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Mercy Hill Church.
