It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Laverne Ellis of Jackson, Missouri, who passed away on May 29, 2025, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Atchison and Agnes Kight Atchison; her husband Elwood "Bud" Ellis; her children-in-law, Darlene Ellis and Mike White; and her siblings, Ardell, Harold Atchison and Dorothy Young.
She is survived by: her children, Sherry Mayo, Cathy White and Rick Ellis; her granddaughters, Melissa Hampton (Michael) and Gloria Sauerbrunn (Darrin); and her great grandchildren, Brenna, Murphy, Hannah, Joseph Hampton, Jake and Josey Sauerbrunn. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel (1001 N Mt Auburn Rd, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to American Cancer Society, PO Box 28566, Saint Louis, MO 63146, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
