He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Thornton and Mary Thornton (Stevenson); and his wife Helen Perkins. He is survived by: his children, Steve Thornton (Christine), Mark Thornton (Candy) and Lori Craig (Josh). He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and twenty nine great-grandchildren.
