He is survived by: his father Charles; his wife Bobbie; his sons, Zach Burns (Maggie), Bryant Mertz (Stephanie) and Jack Smith; his siblings, Mark Burns, Charles Wesley and Lori Jaegers; and his grandchildren, Lyle Mertz, Elayna Mertz, Griffin Burns and Nora Burns.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Houser-Millard Funeral Directors (2613 W Main St, Jefferson City, MO 65109). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 17th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the family care of Bobbie Burns. The funds will go to the Loeys-Dietz Foundation.
