With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Karen A. Scott of Jefferson City, Missouri, who passed away on October 9, 2025 at the age of 61. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband David Scott; and her daughters, Samantha Scott and Danielle Scott. She is survived by: her parents, Cecilia Whalen (Campbell) and Deacon Tom Whalen; her children, Chris Coker (Stasha), Josh Scott (Britney), Trisha Winterstein, Kristi Shackleford (Derek) and Holly Scott; her siblings, Mark Whalen, Rich Whalen, Terri Gentzsch (Dave), Betsy Bartow (Tom), Patty Smith (Doyle), Rebecca Bass (Josh) and Judi Mendoza (Luis); and her grandchildren, Katlynd Strange, David Jorgensen, Nora Coker, Clara Coker, Alexa Scott, Brylee Scott, Londyn Scott, Carson Scott, Dontá Johnson, Destiny Libbert, Davion Brantley, Jaiden Munsterman, Bret Keeney, Owen Bisges and Barrett Bisges. She is also survived by great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Proto-Cathedral of St. Peter (216 Broadway St, Jefferson City, MO 65101). A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Brazito Lions Club (3220 State Hwy East, Jefferson City, MO 65101).
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to Covenant House.
