He was predeceased by: his parents, Orval "Ep" Epple and Elsie Epple; his son Cole Joseph Epple; and his parents-in-law, Karl and Betty Gilmore.
He is survived by: his wife Darla Kay Gilmore; his son Jesse Epple (Corin) of St. Louis; his siblings, Jim Epple of Jefferson City and Lisa Tharp (Tim) of Jefferson City; his siblings-in-law, Kevin Gilmore (Jonna) of Jefferson City and Pam Bowman (Chuck) of Columbia; his nieces and nephews, George Tharp (Joe), Alex Tharp (Elena), Lily Tharp (Carson Mohr), Justin Gilmore (Haley), Paige Colbert (Danny), Kevin Cochran (Katia) and Eric Cochran (Kristina); his godparents, Don and Renilda Mertens; and his pet Josey Wales. He is also survived by several great-nieces; numerous members of his extended family and close friends.
