He was predeceased by: his wife Eleanor Sims; his parents, Edward Sims Sr. and Eleanor Sims; his sister Darlene Sims; and his mother-in-law Issabelle Sims.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Paris Sims, Corey Gates, Courtney Gates, Calea Gates and Chamya Gates; his siblings, Verna, Jerome, Anthalene, Linda, Chris, Ed and Harrell; and his children, Kali Sims, Corey and Courtney Gates. He is also survived by grandchildren and a host of extended family members, friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 1:00 PM and on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Shepard Funeral Chapel (9255 Natural Bridge Rd, St. Louis, MO 63134). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 23rd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location.
