He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Garza Sr. and Ignacia Garza; his siblings, Arnulfo Garza (Gloria), Reyes Garza and Margarita Garza; his father-in-law Pedro Gonzalez Sr. (Aurora); his siblings-in-law, Guadalupe Garcia, Ray Cantu, Cheo Gonzalez (Cuca), Elvia Cantu, Beto Gutierrez, Pete Gonzalez, Jr. and Henry Gonzalez; and his friends, Jesus Zamudio (Consuelo), Ramon Otero (Estella), Mike Raya (Connie), Francisco Barrera (Guadalupe) and Miguel Luna (Salud).
He is survived by: his wife Cecilia "Diana" Garza; his children, Eddie Garza (Linda), Rick Garza (Lisa), Linda Barrera (Cheo), Rey Garza, Joe Garza, Consuelo Barrera-Luna (Miguel) and Mary Beeson (Marty); his siblings, Oscar Garza Sr. (Maggie), Janie Garcia and Lolis Cantu; his in-laws, Gloria Gutierrez, Mary Lou Ramirez (Ernie), Danny Gonzalez (Santa) and Leea Gonzalez; and his dear compadres Gerardo Saenz (Alicia). He is also survived by 23 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Lake View Funeral Home (5000 N Illinois St, Fairview Heights, IL 62208). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 13th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
