He was predeceased by : his parents, Virgil Cox and Edith Cox (Hunt); his wife Carlene Cox; and his brothers, Howard Lee Cox, Gary Steven Cox (Mary Lou Cox) and Archie "Lynn" Cox.

He is survived by : his children, Kyle Cox (Sara) and Carrie Cox of Lee's Summit, MO; his close friend Shirley Albright; his grandchildren, Grasyn Cox, Kylyn Cox and Chloe Cox; his brothers, Stanley Cox (Joyce) and Virgil Cox (Shirley); and his sister-in-law Barbara Cox. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Joplin Elk's Lodge in care of the mortuary.
