He was predeceased by: his former wife Betty Joan Maples (Vette); his daughter Manya Maples; his stepdaughter LaDawn Waites; his grandson Christopher Gailey; his parents, William Maples and Juanita Maples; and his siblings, William, Donald, James, Thomas, Naomi Michaud, Patricia Busby and Shirley Giles.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Lynette Maples; his daughters, Sonya Hamblin (Bob) of Gallatin and Tammy Gailey (Shan) of Ochelata, Oklahoma; his stepson Travis Waites of Russia; and his siblings, John Maples, Gene Maples (Linda) and Betty Priester. He is also survived by five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and thirteen great- grandchildren.
