He is survived by: his son David Lee Stapleton, Jr. (Stephanie) of Joplin; his grandson Austin Stapleton; his great grandchildren, Donnie and Reece of Pittsburg; and his sisters, Carroll Smith of Carl Junction, Cheryl Sparlin of Joplin and Belinda Asbell of Webb City.
