He was predeceased by : his parents, Walter Brownfield and Esther Brownfield (Dierschlag); his wives, Patricia Roose Brownfield and Helen Joyce Stoffer; his sister Phyllis Sams; and his son Leonard Brownfield.

He is survived by : his sons, Scott and Neal Brownfield.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary (3701 E 7th St, Joplin, MO 64801). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at the same location.

Instead of flowers, the family would prefer a donation to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2616 Connecticut Ave, Joplin, MO 64804 in Deane's name. They have online donation capability.
