He was predeceased by: his parents, Clay McVay and Freda McVay; his siblings, Shirley Baumgarner, Carolyn McVay and Jimmy McVay; his great grandchild Hope McVay; and his son-in-law Joel Alan Goff.
He is survived by: his wife Julie McVay (Hight); his children, Gary Jr. McVay (Christina), Marty McVay (Jennifer) and Sherri Lynn Crismon; his grandchildren, Allyssa McVay (Cody), Dillon McVay, Brooke Crismon (Alex), A. J. Dobbs, Bella McVay (Manuel), Trinity Dobbs and Zach McVay (Mayson); his great grandchildren, Skyy McVay, Lincoln McVay, Braylee Pickett and Monroe McVay; and his sister Wanda Polodna.
