He is survived by: his children, Dawn Welch (Doug) of Neosho, Eric Benson (Drew Coppinger) of Ozark and Gary Benson (Aaron Thomas) of Joplin; his grandchildren, Mariah Welch of Joplin, Denver Welch of Neosho and Cait Stewart of Carl Junction; his great grandchild Ezra Stewart of Carl Junction; and his sister Carol Gardner (Kieth) of Joplin.
