James Scott Christy Obituary

With sadness, we share the passing of James Scott Christy (Joplin, Missouri). James Scott, born on December 1, 1937, passed away on August 12, 2026. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of James Scott Christy to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Christy and Edith Christy (Hartman); his siblings, Beatrice, Carol, Virginia, Donna, Junior and Mike; his granddaughter Paige; and his son-in-law Eric Glosser.

He is survived by: his children, Jeff Christy (Michele) of Georgetown, Texas and Carla Glosser of McConnelsville, Ohio; his brother Tom Christy (Pat) of Fort Scott, Kansas; and his close friend Rachel Becker. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Fort Scott National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Scott's favorite charity.
