He is survived by: his wife Carrie Elizabeth Rago Kernel; his children, Marlena Tackett, Nathaniel Kernel, Joey Kernel, Joshua Cure and Tabitha Cure; his grandchildren, Benjamin Tackett, Asher Tackett, Amellia McCarter, Marlee McCarter and Dakota Kernel; his siblings, Gary Kernel, Irene Fisher and Mildred; and his son-in-law Kevin Tackett.
