With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marla Phillips (Joplin, Missouri), who passed away on April 10, 2024. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her father Ezra Phillips. She is survived by : her brothers, William Phillips (Darlene), Michael Phillips (Suzy) and James Phillips (Diane); her husband Michael Dwain Smotherman Sr.; and her children, Michael Smotherman Jr. (Regina), Amy Smotherman (Michael) (Teeter), Amos Smotherman (Whitney), Andy Smotherman (Lindsey), LeighAnn Smotherman (Donovan) and Jacob Smotherman (Emily).

A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Joplin Family Worship Center (5290 E 7th St, Joplin, MO 64801).

In lieu of flowers, Marla requested donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
