Verlene Faye Davenport Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Verlene Faye Davenport (Joplin, Missouri), born in Hays, Kansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 6, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Davenport, Sr.; her son Robert Davenport, Jr.; her granddaughter Shannon Fields; and her sisters, Kaye Clark and Valoise "Tammy" Doty.
She is survived by: her children, Alfred Zabasniki (Sherry) of Joplin, Scott Davenport of Joplin, Joan Zabasniki-Reed (Don) of Sand Springs, OK, Carol Oberman of New York and Lynda Fields of Joplin; her grandchildren, Priscilla Forsythe (David), Thaddaeus West, Dallas Nixon (Donnie), Caris Turner, Christopher Zabasniki, Riana Zabasniki, Adrian Fields, Heather Sandler (Evan) and Jennifer Warmoth (Tony); and her siblings, Vern Gilbert of Jasper, MO, Verle Gilbert of Alba, MO, Veda Perrin of Sarcoxie, MO, Vickie Gilbert of Jasper, MO, Valora Daniels of Joplin, MO, Vernetta Swihart of Elbing, KS and Varonica Gilbert of San Antonio, TX.. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made out to the American Lung Association.
