He is survived by: his wife Barbara Ann Sharp; his children, Tammy Young (David), Phillip Dobson (Carol), Merrill Allison Jr. and Tracy Sharp-Robertson (Fred C. Robertson); and his nephew David Allen Williams (Melody). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.
