He was predeceased by: his father Kenneth Elder; his grandparents, Ray, Louise Boyd, Albert and Lizzie Elder; and his brother Ronald "Ronnie" Elder of Wyaconda, MO.
He is survived by: his mother Leona Elder (Boyd); his children, Heather Fenton (Troy) of Kahoka, MO and Brandon Orton of Memphis, MO; his grandchildren, Travis, Austin Ferguson, Jacob Conger, Jemma Fenton, Brendan and Bryson Orton; and his siblings, Jeffery (Laurie), Karen Tripp of Revere, MO, Janice Sturm (Terry) of Kahoka, MO and Carolyn Wright of San Angelo, TX.. He is also survived by 2 Great-grandchildren.
Memorials in Steve's name may be made to the Chambersburg Cemetery.
