It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bertha M. Gardner (Kansas City, Missouri), who passed away on December 21, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Worth Littlejohn and Bertha Hunt; her husband Marvin C. Gardner; her children, Robert Osler and Joyce Brown; her siblings, Tyree, WJ Littlejohn and Ellen Jones; her grandchildren, Morgan Brown, Carlos Hill Jr. and Miracle Francis; and her great grandchild Dorthy Ann White.
She is survived by: her children, James Osler (Curtis), Cathy Sodie, Lynn Brown, Jeanette Fraizer (Glenn), Gwendolyn Cunningham (Maurice), Lori Brown, Tonia Brown and Brenda Kidd (Henry III); and her grandchildren, Shaunetta, Sonya, Charles, Jamesetta, Tamika, Dominique, Dontay, Sherry, Brandon, Ronald, Zukea, Erin, Daniel, Reginald, Henry IV, Derell, Porscha, Anthony, Tyree, Darrion and James Jr.. She is also survived by 45 Great-Grandchildren; 24 Great-Great-Grandchildren; 5 Great-Great-Great Grandchildren, and a host of other relatives.
Bertha was recognized with 2 prestigious honors: She was inducted into "The New Era District Jr. Matrons Auxiliary" in 1965, and The TJB Foundation presented her with "Unsung Octogenarian Citizens Award" in 2016.
