With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Clarence Bennett Sr. in Kansas City, Missouri, born in Canton, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 16, 2025 at the age of 85. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Shelby and Lela Bennett. He is survived by: his siblings, Susie Ausmer, Daisy Terrell, Leander Clay, Robert Jenkins and Eddie Bennett; his wife Anna Bennett; his children, Melody Levine (Worris), Debra Johnson (Joseph), Sharon Robinson (Robert), Clarence, Jr. Bennett (Renae), Daisy Bennett, Theary Bennett (Angel), Rena Graves, Jenne Lindsey, Stacey Ersery (Patrick, Sr.), Kimberly Tiamiyu (Yusuf) and Monica Burns (Lee, III); and his stepchildren, Kevin Harlin, Roy Meekie and Rosalind Meekie. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
