He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifton Pope and Erma Pope; his brothers, Wendell Pope, Terry Pope and Michael Pope; and his daughter Avona Saba.
He is survived by: his wife Celestine Peoples Pope; and his siblings, Darrell Pope of Hutchinson, Kansas, Kent Pope of Kansas City, Missouri, Gary Pope of Springfield, Missouri, Ronald Pope of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Sheila Little of Hutchinson, Kansas, Diane Pope, Denise Jessemy of Greensboro and Tawana Garcia of Kansas City, Missouri.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Muehlebach Funeral Care (6800 Troost Ave, Kansas City, MO 64131). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. John's Missionary Baptist Church (215 S Chicago St, Salina, KS 67401). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 30th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery (5181 Wildcat Creek Rd, Manhattan, KS 66503).
The Family is asking that in lieu of flowers those donations be made to the American Cancer Society (https://donate.cancer.org) and/or Kidney Foundation.
