We announce the death of Everett Eugene Gates in Kansas City, Missouri, who passed away on July 19, 2026, at the age of 92. Everett will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Minor Gates and Bessie Ella Gates (Holley); and his wife Shirley Gates. He is survived by: his children, Gina Brashear (Mike) and David Gates (Jane); his grandchildren, Eric Brashear, Joseph Brashear, Lindsay Gates, Seth Gates and Taylor Connor; and his great grandchildren, Johnathan Brashear, Zoey Brashear, Brooklyn Keith and Delaney Goff.
