He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Liles, Jr. and Mary Ann Scoggins Liles; and his brother William Liles. He is survived by: his wife Karla Christner; his children, Preston Liles of Lebanon, Franklin, Jr. of Liberty, Missouri, Megan Liles of Iowa and Tiffany Liles of Raytown, Missouri; and his siblings, Patricia Ann Liles of Alton, Illinois, Melvin T. Liles of Savannah and Ronnie Liles of Alton, Illinois. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
