He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurence Schafer and Helen Schafer (Nepper); and his brother-in-law Glen Braddy. He is survived by: his wife Rita Putthoff; and his siblings, Steve Schafer (Lorie) and Kathryn Braddy (Schafer). He is also survived by 5 nephews and 4 grand-nephews and nieces.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 10:00 AM at 5141 Main St, Kansas City, MO 64112. A funeral Mass was held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Visitation Parish or the Community Blood Bank of Kansas City.
