He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony "Brack" Brackney and Zelma Brackney (West); and his wife Alice Brackney. He is survived by: his sons, David Brackney (Cindi), Daniel Brackney (Beverly), Thomas Brackney and Matthew Brackney (Kathleen); his grandchild Jackie Davis (Jonathan); his stepgrandchildren, Dean, Becky and Sarah; and his great grandchildren, Shea and Morgan Brown.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Therese Parish and may be left in care of the Meyers Northland Chapel in Parkville.
