Jerome Currie Obituary
With sadness, we share the passing of Jerome Currie of Kansas City, Missouri. Jerome, born on December 27, 1957, passed away on August 30, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Tyree Currie and Leola Currie (Foster); and his siblings, Ronald Foster (Joe), Darnell Currie and Debra Currie-Richmond.
He is survived by: his wife Alexis Gatson-Currie; his stepdaughter Sydnee Sims; his sons, Aleamiri-Hasaan Currie and Jace-Hakeem Currie; his siblings, Tyree Currie, Jr., Sharon Currie, Arnold Currie (Mack), Terry Nevils Currie (Tick), Carl Currie (Duane) and Kevin Currie; and his former wife April Currie (Wanda Jean Boxley). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the The Altar Event Space (9151 Parallel Pkwy, Kansas City, KS 66109).
In Lieu of flowers: there has been an education fund established for his children at Mainstreet Credit Union under the name "Aleamiri- Hasaan Currie Memo: J Currie Education Fund".
