He is survived by: his wife Mary McGee-Slaughter; his children, Louis V. Goins and Michele L Goins; and his siblings, Geraldine and Michael of Lexington, Missouri. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; nieces; nephews; extended family members; and friends.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Watkins Heritage Chapel (4000 Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64130).
