He is survived by : his parents, Peter Schlegelmilch and Joy Bentley; his former life partner Cody Wynne Bentley; his daughters, Chloe Bentley and Meah Bentley; his siblings, Kai Bentley (Suzie), Kalee Richards and Christa Schlegelmilch (Dalis); his uncle Bruce; his aunts, Toni Winters and Teresa Lotzgesell (David); and his cousins, Garrett Lotzgesell (Allison), Jake Lotzgesell (Kylee), Dean Lotzgesell, Drannon and Many Many. He is also survived by the mother of his two girls.

“I just posted two pictures that my son, Scott Hanson, posted on his Instagram account when he learned of Mark’s passing. Scott and Mark were friends since grade school and grew up together. Mark flew back to Anchorage to celebrate his 40th birthday with his former school mates. I will always remember his smiling face as he and Scott ambled off to some mischief. I am so sorry for this loss as Mark and Scott are the same age. Losing a child is never easy for any parent. Condolences to the family.”
