Ronald Dills Obituary
Passed away unexpectedly Friday, November 2, 2018 at his home. Ron was born July 25, 1950 in Kansas City, son of Lellous H. and Bonnie J. (Wolfe) Dills. He graduated from Van Horn High School in Independence, Class of 68. He was united in marriage to Dronda K. Smith on April 30, 1977 in Independence. The couple made their home in Kansas City for several years.
They moved near Kingsville nearly thirty years ago. Ron retired from Smurfit Stone Container in Kansas City. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed tractors and old cars. He was an animal lover, especially Beagles. Ron absolutely loved spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife, Dronda; daughter: Dedra (Chris) Pugh of Adrian, MO; two sons: Jeff (Amber) Dills of Independence, MO and Brian Dills of Kingsville, MO; eight grandchildren: Katelyn Pugh and Cierra Pugh, both of Adrian, MO; Dakota Dills of Odessa, MO; Cody Dills , Cheyanne Dills, Kaylee Dills, Aidan Dills and Karlie Dills, all of Independence, MO; two sisters: Brenda Dujakovich of Independence, MO and Joyce (Archie) Britt of Warsaw, MO; two brothers: Richard (Janice) Dills of Independence, MO and Kevin (Stacey) Dills of Kansas City, MO; mother-in-law: Wanda Smith of Kingsville and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son: Adam Dills and father-in-law: Dennis Smith. Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 7th at Williams Funeral Chapel in Holden with Rev. John McRoy of Kingsville Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time, Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Ronald D. Dills Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home.
