He is survived by: his wife Virginia Carder; his son Michael McVay; his stepchildren, Gina Carder, Julia Johnson (Scott) and Donald Carder (Anne); his grandchildren, Davis Johnson (Taran), Parker Johnson (Emma), Madeline Johnson and Gage Rourke; and his great grandchildren, Gabriel Rourke and Corbin Johnson.
