We announce the death of Terry Kent Taylor of Kansas City, Missouri, who passed away on September 3, 2026, at the age of 85. Terry will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Taylor and Wanda Taylor (Barnes); and his siblings, Richard Taylor and Karen Taylor Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Karen DeWitt Taylor; his children, Tracey Taylor Rooney (Bobby), Shawn Taylor (Julie) and Todd Taylor (Amy); and his grandchildren, Maggie, Whitney, Garrett, Ty, Terry and Karen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 12:30 PM at the Leavenworth National Cemetery (150 Muncie Rd, Leavenworth, KS 66048). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at the same location. A reception will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the American Legion Post 58 (2607 State Rte 92, Smithville, MO 64089).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Terry's name to the Saint Luke's Hospital Foundation, 901 East 104 Street, KCMO 64131.
