He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie Hayles and Vivian Hayles (Thomas); his wife Janis Porter; and his brother Chuckie Hayles. He is survived by: his children, Jason Hayles (Nicole) of Lenexa, KS, Tracy Hubbard (Roger) of Smithville, MO and Scott Hayles (Alyssa) of Kansas City, MO; his grandchildren, Maya, Paige, Miles, Mason, Sophia, Vivian, Rebekah, Andrew and Alexander; his stepgrandchildren, Alexandra, Jordan and Jack; his brother Don Hayles (Ann) of Raymore, MO; Andy, Everett, Reid, Nola, Hudson and Ellis. He is also survived by six step-great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the University of Kansas Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, where Tom was a study participant.
