He is survived by: his wife Louise Schmeltz; and his children, Laura Cruse (Jason), Theresa Legato (Josh), Thomas Starr (Anne), Sarah Kiel (Scott), Julia Johnson (Asa), Rebecca Wohletz (Mike), Catherine Lester (Dan) and Timothy Alexander.
