It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Yolanda Burns (Kansas City, Missouri), born in Kansas City, Kansas, who passed away on April 9, 2024, at the age of 66, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Robert Sr. Burns and Shirley Burns; her son JoeJuan Lawrence; and her uncle Rev. Robert Burns Jr.. She is survived by : her children, Claudia Young-El of Toledo, Jack Christensen and Christopher Peppars; her grandchildren, Trey Clark (JoJuana Lawrence) and Jabbar Lawrence; her siblings, Floyd Shell, Charles Burns, Stephanie Hughes, Sandra Gates and Autherine Henderson; and her cousins, Nell of Kansas City and Mae Frances of Kansas City. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, April 22nd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Brooking Cemetery.
