With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joy Smith Stegner of Kearney, Missouri, who passed away on April 13, 2024 at the age of 71. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Joy Smith Stegner to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Elbert Smith and Ellen Smith; and her grandson Gideon Stegner. She is survived by : her husband George Stegner; her sons, Jeff Stegner (Richard) and Steven Stegner (Lisa); her granddaughters, Mykah and Phoebe; her mother-in-law Jeanette Stegner; and her siblings, Carolyn Baxter (Henry), Johnnie Smith and Lea Smith (Wanda). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Kearney, MO (303 S Grove St, Kearney, MO 64060). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Wesley Chapel Cemetery (Pilot Grove, MO 65276).
